ENGLISH
Panel Discussion
Presentation

Robots are replacing millions of jobs today, whilst people are living longer. Gen Y and Gen Z have very different job expectations. The workforce landscape has changed massively our concept of when, where, how and with whom we work - and increasingly ‘who’ is actually at work. Are we prepared to cope with this new paradigm? How should the role of talent management evolve to meet the challenges and to ensure the HR profession can stay relevant?

Concurrent Session C1 - The 3 Main Obstacles in Appreciating Your Employees, and the Solutions
ENGLISH
Presentation

While numerous research findings support the notion that appreciating your employees makes business sense, many organisations and business leaders still cling on to the traditional approach: focusing on flaws rather than highlighting the merits. If we observe from a wider perspective, is it that the same phenomenon occurs in our families, social circles, and society? Everyone welcomes and deserves appreciation over criticism.  So, what went wrong? This sharing is going to unveil not only the three main obstacles to showing appreciation at the workplace, but also the practical solutions. Praise to cheer – are you ready?

Concurrent Session C3 - Disrupting Gender Stereotypes for Diverse and Inclusive Executive Leadership Pathways
ENGLISH
Presentation

A key focus of HR and talent management systems must be to attract and retain the best senior leaders for the organisation in terms of qualifications, experience and perspectives which should be as diverse as the organisation itself and its stakeholders. The number of executive leadership positions available in any organisation each year is small. It is a very competitive environment, and women are underrepresented at the executive leadership level compared to the level of women participation in the workforce and their counterparts at middle management levels. Facilitating gender diversity in executive leadership pathways is one important element (among others) of best practice in HR and talent management. In this presentation, Dr Leahy will attempt to deconstruct some common gender stereotypes and provide strategic information on how to optimise women’s opportunities to compete fairly at the executive leadership level.
